  1. Converting to the flip phone/dumb phone is soooooo uncomfortable, but absolutely worth it!!! My wife also joined, full cold turkey, and it has been an absolute game changer in our relationship. It also forces me to be more present with my kids. Holy crap! I cannot believe what I have been missing out on!

  2. We need peace and what the ones on Venus give is not leave. It's contentment in our harsh climates and such……. Fuck them. We don't want anymore tech. Fuck y'all!!!!! Travel find somewhere pure!! It's in vain!!!! Half are doomed here. We don't want your doom scrolling. Fuck y'all most think y'all are demons and don't understand. This is from all of us. Thhe CIA thinks the same. LEAVE US ALONE. NO MORE TECH.

  3. I have no issues with social media, I have nothing but WhatsApp, which is the only thing keeping me from getting a flip phone, even though I really want one but I really don't feel I can justify it

  4. that's the thing, who would know in 2012, that the phones, by now, would become as big as tablets, there's basically no difference anymore. 6.5 or 7 inch screen, no difference anymore

  5. I really want to try going with a phone that’s not exactly a flip phone and not exactly a smart phone. I want a phone that’s able to have YouTube, Google, gps, and naturally, calling/texting. Is there a device of this sort?

  6. Been 6 months with a flip phone I’m loving it no texting. I actually talk to people on the phone. The only internet I get is about an hour when I get home in my iPad. Really back to old school

  7. Personally, I’m going to be swapping between a cell phone in my free time, and a flip phone + cheap mp3 player combo when I need to focus on work. Mostly because I actually work with people in the non-profits I’m involved in by communicating through various social medias, so deleting them is less of an option.

  8. I mean c'mon be honest, there are a lot of benefits using flip phones you are really living in present, really productive real world and have friends to catch up with, cause with smartphone it makes disconnect with people around especially the introverts you can't hide behind it or making excuse not to pick a phone or not answering your whassap. Cause a lot of people especially men in general spending their time on the phone but not with their family and friends. Yes we should go back to basic the use of phones and connect with people around us.

  9. I am curious to learn about your experience travelling with a feature phone. I know that a lot of smart phones today are compatible with many international networks — a big reason for why I have avoided feature phones before.

  10. i was watching a show after i put my sons to sleep. my sink was full of dishes and i contemplated on doing them and then watching my show. then i took a look around my house and then my yard, my garage, my car, even my photo album in my phone and it’s all a mess. then i questioned, “how many times have i chosen to watch a show or mindlessly scroll on social media over doing things i need to get done?”

i called my carrier today and asked to downgrade. my husband and i are both downgrading to flip phones. i cant wait to have my time back.

  11. If you want the same experience with your smartphone all you have to do is turn on the maximum power saving mode. It limits you from being able to use social media. It only allows you to listen to Spotify and brows the web as well as talk and text.
