There are quite a few good blogging platforms, but which one is best? You have a lot of options from website builders to your own self hosted site using WordPress and the # recommended web host ➡ Bluehost:
No one blogging platform is best for all use cases. As such, I always try to create a variety of tutorials using different website builders and platforms. The essential aspect when choosing a blogging platform is what do you want to accomplish?
My personal blogger blog is a lot of fun. For that style of content, blogger is perfect. Casual updates, write when I want and make a bit of money from blogging. But if I was serious about creating a helpful blog that could grow into a sellable asset, I would use Bluehost and WordPress.
Last, website builders like Squarespace and Wix are not a bad choice. They are a bit more expensive, but provide an all in one experience that makes creating a blog that leverages content marketing easy.

MY TOP FAVORITES
► Ready to start your own self hosted blog? I suggest you use Bluehost, the #1 recommended web host by WordPress ➡
► Ghost is a free open source CMS like WordPress, but strictly focused on email marketing and paid subscription revenue ➡
► Blogger is a good choice for casual personal blogs. Not ideal for commercial purposes, but ideal if you want something cost effective ➡

@DavidUtke do you have a most recent updated review on best blogging platforms? do you still feel this is the same or do you feel that in 2025 we are moving away from blogging? thoughts?
Thank you! I think WordPress is really great for blogging
I create website on payhip and it's terrible on ranking on google and can't find video take about another site can use it for blogging and can rank with
What I'm looking for is an more academic blog – the result of a very long study, being told part by part, and collects in a whole. Basically what ever, non-fictional story is, but also add relevant things to the study, pictures, artwork. Is that all of the blogs, or does it bring to mind some specific one?
I heard several years ago not to use Wix as they couldn't handle your website growth and charged you for moving to a bigger platform. Is that still true with any of these you just reviewed?
I appreciate you, my dude
great content.
Class. I envy!
I wish you good luck, more success!
❤
Hi David. I love your channel! If you blog on Ghost, do you still get access to an email if someone subscribes, like you do with a newsletter? Thanks!
Youre awesome for creating this web hosting video! Ive used A2 Web Hostinng and DreamHost, but Cloudways with TST20 coupon is the true gem.
I really appreciate your videos! They are packed with useful information.
Thanks! Helped me a lot for some homework I had.
Appreciate you my dude. Very detailed, I've been delaying projects due to bad anxiety, but your video helped me clear some doubts about where to start. Cheers.
One of the harsh truths for blogging is it really takes a lot of effort to do proper SEO, maintaining and promoting your blog, and after research alongside your tools, I also found this tool Bloghandy that has been helping me analyze SEO for my content and maintain my blog without any technical knowledge which makes me happy about it 🙂
This was interesting to watch. And helpful too. Thank you.
Great info. Doing some research on this topic and your video is very helpful!
Don't give up the day job.
Doubtlessly you know your blogging and may even be brilliant at it, but talking to me here I found you annoying. The sad part is that I can't put my finger on any one point — possibly it's an 'age gap' thing.
But thanks anyway …
thank you, glad i found you
Thanks
I want to make money in blogging should I go for WordPress and bluehost or wix?
Can your Sony 4K camera be used for travel vlog?

Doesn't Wix allow redirected affiliate links ??
How do I redirect a link in Wix?
Select Single redirect.
Enter the old URL path you want to redirect from (e.g., /about-us) under Old URL.
Enter the new URL that you want to redirect to: For pages on your site: Start typing the URL slug of your new page and select it from the drop-down. …
Click Save, or click Save & Add Another to add more
Hi David. I'm planning for starting a travel blog with open forum option. Pl suggest which will be a better option in terms of software. Although I'm not in plan to make any business but I'm interested in SEO and other analytics features related with blogging software.
Wix has always been very laggy and lots of technical issues, and now my premium plan has no monthly pay option. Their premium is $216 for the year plus $25 yearly for the domain. Only can pay for yearly, two or three years. I found WordPress to be very difficult and not simple for first time users. I'm looking into Weebly or Zyro.

Thank you very much. This was sooo helpful
