  1. It's honestly disgusting how covert and widespread the oppression that stems from this already is. If you have a different opinion or are the "wrong" demographic you probably already are affected and being constantly monitored. This tech in the wrong hands is akin to domestic terrorism.

  2. The hardest part will be the cast system and human behavior. For a smart city to benefit every one. People will need to migrate to where people are like minded. If not the smart city will become a prison for those who have a different view and lifestyle. Another problem might occur when the system will think every citizen is like itself a machine, which will lead to control…

  3. I learned the other day that in the Netherlands obesitas is a much smaller problem than in equallly wealthy other nations. The difference is explained not by how healthy we eat, but how much we move. Not ecercise but walk, cycle, etc The simple fact that the safety of cyclist and the planners goal of a compact cities alternated by green zones, has meant that we much sooner walk or cylcle to the neerest store or work. Now we know this helps also tremendously with congestion, polution, general health, etc though never intended as a solution to these issues. Technologists tend to look for solutions in the direction of more technology, eg. generating data flows to steer traffic towards parking places. But the idea of a habitable city comes from somehwere else or am I wrong?

  4. Given the vast wealth of knowledge on how first nation people of Australia have lived for thousands of years without recourse to any material world structures little less electricity or agriculture, the whole premise of a smart city one maintained through greater infiltration of AI marks a significant decline in intelligence masked as technological innovation. The whole problem and solution is mind created. The domain of the heart operates outside the parameters of technology, no amount of technological advances can create community, unconditional love, compassion or generosity. The truth of this is self evident. The need to even have to label a city as smart is revealing in and of itself.

  5. 8 minutes of useless slogans can be summed in a few words – they put some sensors to track the movement of it's population and they sell this data to ones who are interested. That's all. Oh, and also they don't want you to have your own cars, they want you to use their "progressive" car-sharing (aka short term car rent) and get profit for it.

  6. Smart cities are nothing but total control of humanity. Though digital ID, digital currency and loss of freedoms track and track everything you do. Do we want this for future generations? NO. I will Never support this at all.

  7. Listening to the optimism in this video is refreshing. The thing that bums me out, is that our political differences, and personal agendas will make progress such a drawn out process. Hopefully I get to experience some of this innovation in my lifetime.

  8. You can not think of a car sharing before you settle the single city forever…mobility is the key, just imagine I live 5 cities at the same time: Kyiv, Lviv, Stryi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Prague, Den-Helder
