Backup Power aka Portable UPS also known as Mini UPS for your WiFi Routers so that. your work does not get interrupted if there is a power outage I tested 3 different models. What you should know about these portable router UPS and who is this for and for whom these might not be suitable. I had purchased 3 different popular models one for Oakter, one from Resonate 2A model and third from Zinq and share my experience in this video.

2) Resonate RouterUPS CRU12V 2A

  1. What you missed to add, the Resonate uses mostly 11.1v battery pack, that is the reason they are expensive, they are boosting 11.1v to 12v DC using 3 18650 batteries, whereas, the Okater and cheaper one use the same case but use a 7.4v and then step-up the power to 12v, hence reducing the Amp. Any good router will not perform the best on lower AMP. They sell for cheap by giving minimum AMP required by most of the routers whereas Resonate does not compromise. I noticed after demand and sale of cheaper sub-par UPS, resonate also launced a smaller 2 battery varient. Sad to see brands pushing bad products just because consumers don't understand most of this. CUSTOMER IS KING. RESEARCH AND BUY QUALITY.

  2. Been using oakter UPS for more rhan 3 months, it had seen several long power cuts and lasted for more than 4 hours for my single band router. The switch is immediate and didn't caused rhe router to reboot. Definitely recommended if available in sale.

  3. Dear Ranjit,
Thank you so much for all the useful information. Just a small question I have, this ups is specially for the router only but what about the modem. We have a modem which is connected with the router so if its electricity shortage we can use this UPS for the router but what about Modem (provided by ISP)?

Please let us know if there is any other solution/workaround available for this.

    Thanks

  4. Anyone know how much power these things lose going through the battery charger/discharger? I would hope it was <10% but cheap and nasty PSUs can waste more than that. It's running 24/7 so the parqasitic consumption matters.

  5. I have a Resonate RouterUPS CRU12V 2A device attached to my WiFi router for the past 3 years. And after 3 years it barely lasts up to 30 minutes. Hope other video watchers can benefit from this comment.

  6. Used the Zinq after watching this video and here I am after 11 months of usage and the ups has stopped providing the output. Not sure about the problem here, if the battery is dead inside. Customer service of Zinq is pathetic as unable to reach out to them on call or email.

  7. I have questions I will connect my router with ups but the router is connected with some external source on terrace so we are giving power to router by connecting it with ups but indirectly router is connected with terrace connection so what about that is it it will work. Please let me know I have power cut issue.
