How much do you need to spend on a 165 Hz gaming monitor? These super cheap monitors must be bad, right?

  1. I have been using KTC-H24T09P for more than an year now and its certainly a very good screen especially for gaming but it has really bad backlight uniformity which is not visible in games and daily use but very prominent in the dark especially when watching movies.

  2. I have three of the 32" curved version of these monitors. First, the stand for these is awful. It takes up too much space and the only adjustment you can make is tilting the monitor up and down. No height adjustment, and the stand puts the monitor like, 4" above my desk. I had to get risers for my gaming seat to keep from straining my neck while looking up.
However, my biggest complaint is their claim that these monitors are "frameless". They are not. All of their adds show a monitor with the picture going right up to the edge of the display. Uh Uh. They most certainly do not do this. This was one of the features that sold me on these. But it isn't rue. In my triple monitor setup, I have two 9/16" black stripes in my display. Frameless my a**. I reached out to KTC about this and they said while the monitors are "frameless," they do have a 5.75mm "no display" zone around the edge. Yeah, hidden in the fine print. The pictures in their adds say one thing but the actual monitor sings a different tune. i will NOT be recommending KTC monitors in the future.

  3. 44 Seconds into the video. That monitor looks relatively similar outer front panel with my 32" Samsung Odyssey G55A 165Hz monitor. I'm still happy I nabbed it up at $199.99 at the end of August 2024 as it is going for $309.93 today. I'll probably buy two of those cheaper variants as side monitors. 🤔

  4. So… Wow in wme Koorui the "most accurate" when it looks absurdly yellow? Is the video footage not hett`meant to be visually representative in the way it normally would be expected to?

  5. It’s not ALMOST too good to be true. We’re in pre-christmas mode, where suppliers need to blow out stock that won’t be competitive for christmas. Almost certainly no support will be offered. They look pretty awful.

  6. Waiting on my KTC 27in qhd to come in….finally upgraded from my 720p HP Omen…someone tell me if this was a good decision cuz i really dont know much about monitors yet. I didnt even realize i was missing out till i saw one of my homeboys playing on a biga** LG that looked like 4k to me lol. after watching the vid im more excited but just dont know if it really is that big of a difference or not

  7. beginning in the 1980s, I worked with the STANDARD 14 inch monitors for all formats, and have steadily and routinely UPGRADED MONITORS over the last 40 years of gaming. Unfortunately the Gaming Monitor selection displayed here is only in the 24 inch range: this model has been far surpassed with introduction of 32 inch models. I have purchased for my 3 sons and myself Iiyama G-Master GB3266QSU 32 "monitors, and NONE of us shall ever return to the 24"standard. Choosing 24"reflects essentially continuing to Game in a cramped screen mode, and the mentality behind this Gents video is that it is essential to choose the CHEAPEST option. While enhancing the Gaming experience (through adopting the upgraded Monitors) reflects the ideology of attempting to self provide the most optimal Hardware, so as to increase Gaming Pleasure.
And of course, the 34"wide monitor styles are not even considered. In my opinion INVESTING a bit more to enhance one's Gaming experience is simply an investment in QUALITY ENTERTAINMENT. ♾

  8. Watching this video with a monitor that has a thick band of racing stripes on the left side of the screen, your video make it so much easier to research rather than trying to read text through thick racing stripes across the monitor.

  9. i ordered the KTC but now that i watch the comparison again i can clearly see that the MSI has a sharper image and less pixelated side by side. I might regret my decision.

  10. I'm interested in a multi-purpose monitor that I would also connect to my PS5. However, how does this KTC monitor hold up when used for work and reading text documents? Is it better to look into another type of monitor altogether if your priority is still work > gaming?

  11. @techless I can't figure out how to get a refresh rate over 60hz. It's not showing over that in advanced display settings. Do I need a good gpu to get a higher refresh rate? I'm on and old computer.
