How much you wanna bet some of these are refurbs and the windows installations were activated using the MAS activator script instead of being purchased legit.

I was put in charge of buying a few PCs for my company back around '90. Gateway was pretty new and built in Bumfuck Iowa or someplace, so we got their top of the line desktops with 128Mb HDDs, 4Mb RAM and Intel's latest 8088 Processor. But don't worry. In a couple years, we upgraded the HDDs to 1GB Seagates for only $285 each. I got a raise for finding that deal.
How the mighty Gateway has fallen. First they came for the iconic bicycle names. Then the motorcycles. Then the audio and home appliance brands.
Now it's computers.
Nothing is sacred.

A 5 star review (which it deserved) got me one of those rechargeable PC vac/blower things for free lol

Dude, you are dissing sub 200 dollar laptops. I get it. You've reviewed thousands of em. So have I. The problem is that you're complacent and expect much more. There are millions of people that cannot afford 1000 for a laptop. These are all PERFECT for ANYONE that simply needs a computer for school, for web browsing, for whatever. These may be somebodies very first computer. Sure… Get an Acer for 300 bucks. Not everyone has 300 bucks. I guarantee that there are parents out there that are simply heart broken and embarrassed when their kids see these videos making fun of something they busted their asses to get. Online buying is bad specially if not careful. I myself buy unpacked things .
I got myself a 500$ laptop at 800$ because of Taxes , it was already used a bit because I saw two dates. One 2 weeks ago and one is my same date. I didn't got discount for it . This was 2023 , and I still use it. It's perfect and okay but remember I play old games from 2008-2012 like dead space and dishonored because I haven't. It's a Acer nitro 5 with Ryzen 5 and 8gb ofDDR 5 + 4Gb of VRAM(3050Ti ) , laptop specs aren't as good as pc counter part.
I need to put more ram and see. I'm happy with dishonored but it heats faster with some other games . Specially NFS payback ! it almost friend with 90 C temp with fans on auto and with max it sounds harsh. I can headphone but I have ear damage on my left ear sad for me. I'm a audiophile and also addicted to music so I use to listen music a lot with HP 24/7 and now it's dmg so I have been warned by checkup to not use headphones otherwise that could help fan noise. PC users are lucky with CPU case down. I also own a pc , but normal one. I can afford gaming pc but I already have a laptop. It's because of work ! i got laptop. I wanted to play my games during work breaks , people eat food , I eat games :3
