How the federal government should have handled a rebate is zero tax on EV and hybrids, and all gasoline purchases are subject to and increased GST and PST. Problem solved.
Canada needs to allow more EV's in from other countries to promote competition. Companies like Tesla are taking advantage of it. Luckily, there are options even now so that I never have to buy Tesla again. FYI, the cybertruck is not built for Canada (or anywhere really) and is complete Junk.

Looks like China is the one winning from the tariffs than Canada. BYD cars are way cheaper and way better than whatever Tesla or other major manufacturers offer.

This Canadian sold his EV. If the simple and inexpensive BYD were to come here I’d buy another EV as a work/city car. Until then a EV will never be back in my garage!
Why not just tell Tesla to take their junk back to the US
