  1. I'd buy this tablet my self but I need a minimum of an HD screen which the Fire HD 8 nails it with 1280×800 with a decent 189 ppi for the 8" display! But don't get me wrong the 1024×600 IPS 171 ppi display looks amazing for a resolution that is under 720p. Viewing angles are quite impressive compared to tablets around and even more than the $50.
Overall, this is an affordable tablet that feature packed as well as the performance and display that would completely destroy any tablet around it's amazing $50 price tag despite the adds. (Can be removed for $15 in the Amazon app in your Amazon account settings under devices.)

  2. im looking for a tablet to take on trips just to watch youtube or browse the internet facebook etc .. would this be ideal.. not bothered about games as such. just need something so i can contact friends on facebook and maybe watch youtube vids??

  3. As far as I know the 4 ARM A7 cores aren't configured in any kind of big.LITTLE arrangement. Also can you confirm that the gpu is actually a power VR G6200 with cpu-z? Maybe amazon has 2 versions of the SOC out there. If so I'd definitely want the one with the G6200. Mine shows a mali 450MP gpu.

  4. I purchased one when it came out. It's nice to have around the house, but we don't get much use out of it. Entertainment-wise, it's great but from a productivity standpoint, it is lacking…but it's hard to complain about that since that wasn't why it was designed.
