A quantum computer isn’t just a more powerful version of the computers we use today; it’s something else entirely, based on emerging scientific understanding — and more than a bit of uncertainty. Enter the quantum wonderland with TED Fellow Shohini Ghose and learn how this technology holds the potential to transform medicine, create unbreakable encryption and even teleport information.

Now I am even more confused … lot of these QC gyaan Jeevis talk about these buzz words like 'entanglement' during QC tech talks but no one could simplify it …
This is BS. I think Ted is history now.
She reminds me of Kamala Harris. Ultimately we do not understand what she is talking about. I have a feeling is it just talk the talk, but not walk the walk ?
After watching this video you thought you know about quantum computing. The reality is that you don't even know what you don't know, so as a consquence you thought you know. That is quantum computing in a nutshell.
I do not get it.
The quantum computer wins every time because it has the final say what the output is and therefire it wins every time.
Superposition and entanglement are concepts that defy our everyday experiences! They are rooted in the strange and counterintuitive world of quantum mechanics, which operates very differently from the classical physics we observe in our daily lives.
This talk does not to a good job describing how the quantum computer arrives at the correct answer (wins the coin flip game). Just a bunch of hand waving through the most important points of what I thought I would get from it.
THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR INFORMATION
WE ALL ARE VERY VERY GRATEFULL TO YOU 🙏
If I were to play against a quantum computer, I would require a 3rd party trusted by both of us. The Quantum computer would then have to carry out a "measurement" on each step, collapsing the quantum state, and would lose 50% of the time. So this is kinda cheating, letting the computer play and keep the score.
To the presenter: Now ask your audience members that were true beginners to repeat to you what they've learned. Would you as a presenter expect to receive an accurate synopsis from those audience members?
I can give you all the knowledge of the advanced, last lesson right now in one sentence:
Quantum computing will eventually merge with AI and allow it to have analogous intelligence like us and become a complete and sentient life form.
I did my bachelor's in mathematics, which major should I take for my masters to get a job or research opportunity in the field of quantum computing??
Life suspends when quantum uncertainty paradoxically leads to certainty – God is great – Alanis Morisette
You need another quantum computer to break encryption created by a quantum computer unless the creator changes the key in quantum spacetime, ad infinitum (the breaker adapts – of course)
insight : A Quantum computer is just a GAY Computer.
Even after 5 years, we are not seeing anything mentioned in this video.
This is one of the videos not to watch to understand quantum computing.
amazing presentation, simple, interesting and high valued information
I think there are quite a few words of general nature and quite a lot of PR. One of principal questions of quantum computer : how to get information, unfortunately remains unanswered. Especially if that information changes if we want to „read“ it . Thanks to quantum physics.
I clicked on this video because it said "A beginner's guide to quantum computing". I'm none the wiser.
This beginner's guide need a beginner's guide😢😅
Useless, time waste
She is sounding like Agent Smith of Matrix 😂
lefty talk
The quantum computer is at a superposition of cheating and not cheating
All energy………
This video is 5 years old for me, and quantum computing progress has been so cool since then. All the possibilities for medicine research, protein analysis, weather simulations. Regular AI based on binary computing has already sped up and solved so many issues since its launch, I’ll be excited to see if AI and quantum computing will be able to help some of our most dire global societal problems
she is explained nothing. it is clear that even she is pretending to undertsand it
Stupid woke language, good explanation.
But why do we need this??
I don't like this example because in the Quantum game, the "coin" does not approximate a coin anymore. It's a 2×2 matrix that is still somehow called a coin but has nothing to do with an actual coin. Hence, the manipulation of that matrix the human player is allowed to do has nothing to do with flipping. It's an operation that is just made irrelevant by the sequence of the computer's operations. TLDR: The computer would not win this game with a physical coin. It's a linguistic trick.
Do they all use the same stupid coin game example?
Now I have to learn about superposition, uncertainty principle and quantum entanglement 😢
❤If a quantum bit can be a 1, 0 and both. The analogy is that each bit has three states, that means a combination of two can make 9 values. That is if both(entails 01 and 10 concurrently). If 1 is 11 and zero is 00. For a qubit with 4 states. Remember a classical bit has two states.❤
That is possibly the single worst explanation of quantum computing benefits I have ever seen. Just nothing like how quantum computers are used in any of the relevant algorithms.
This is the best video about quantum computing i ever watched
Very. Nice
You're saying even though it stays mixed until it has to make a decision, it always chooses heads therefore overwhelmingly wins, and no explanation as to why it always chooses heads, or why always choosing heads wins? Also unless quantum computing can solve the self destructive bent of humans (destroying their only biosphere), it means nothing useful, imo.
Quantum computing ❌
Coin flipping game ✅
Military use 🙏
What could be the result of the game if both the players are Quantum computer.
Ist IBM quantum computer or Quantum way of computing
I don't think human can reap technology of quantum physics
We can use quantum way of computation
What if struggles around gender and sexual identity are humans' responses dealing with the fluid non binary nature of quantum reality?
Great analysis, thank you! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). How can I transfer them to Binance?
When did TED get soooo dumb?
