I Rode In The Driverless Robotaxi Zoox

This is not a concept car, this is the world’s first purpose fully autonomous robot taxi created by Zoox and today it’s taking me on the busy roads of Las Vegas.

The bi-directional fully electric, fully autonomous vehicle has no steering wheel and comes with a top speed of 75mph. It will be hitting the roads of Las Vegas before being rolled out in San Fransisco. I had a look behind the scenes at some of the tech involved to create it and at how you can hail the robotaxi through the Zoox app.

Huge thanks to : @ZooxYouTube ,

  1. It’s not accurate to say rideshare drivers are always angry—that’s a generalization. In the U.S., you can turn right at a red light unless a sign says otherwise. Your comment reminds me that you may be approaching this from a different perspective—like your Australian accent suggests, you’re not from here.

  2. It's not a taxi. Why don't you people stop calling it a taxi. It's owned by big tech which owns uber and lyft and they are trying to put the cabs out of business. And they have destroyed the limo and bus industry as well. They can't.
Call themselves a taxi because they will have to fall the same rules as everyone else. But since they're owned by big banks and big tech, they do not follow rules. That's why they cut corners and pay people off. Do not get in this fucking car unless you want to either die or sell your freedom and sell your soul

  3. Taxi was neat. Good emo, etc, etc.
I fell in love with the demonstrator. Very att5ractive with an Aussie accent and pink hair. I am totally in love with her. Maybe if I go to Vegas I might see her in a cab and arrange a date. Nah never happen but I can dream can't I.

  4. Within about three minutes walk from my front door there are bus stops in both directions served by several routes which run every few minutes. Because I am 68 I can travel for free after the morning peak and any time at weekends. If I need to travel during the morning peak it costs me £1,75. If I need information, or other assistance I can ask the driver or another passenger. Why on earth would I want to travel in one of these things.

If I need to travel further, usually into central London there are two stations less than ten minutes walk away which between them are served by trains on three routes, each of which runs every thirty minutes. Within the Greater London area I can also use these for free after the morning peak.

  5. It's about time. I mean, fuck all those assholes who have to resort to driving uber and lyft in addition to their full time jobs just to be able to make ends meet. What makes them think they should be able to pay rent AND eat food. I'd rather make rich people richer just so I can feel like I'm in some science fiction novel.

  6. I think it’s a great idea and the cars look real cool, good for getting around town with family and friends. Doesn’t look good for airport transit, where do you put luggage? I would rather have a 1 or 2 seater for work transit
