The design and layout of your blog is a big deal. It’s not just about picking the colours and fonts and header image. The design of your blog involves thinking about the navigation and the reading experience for your visitors and so much more. In this video I talk about things you need to think about when it comes to blog design.

Check out my blog post on the matter here:

  1. Sorry I’m new – what if I have ocean wp for my theme & have everything set up already? I left my blog (the hardest for me for last). Do you recommend still changing my theme?

  2. I need suggestions, I am a crafter and want to blog, I have my domain WordPress the whole shabang however I haven't a clue let alone the time to single handedly mess a blog up that right now doesn't exist. I don't mind paying for a nice blog but don't have the $$$$ either. I'm not completely illiterate and have a tendency to pick things up fast but building, designing my blog is not in the cards for me. I have already don't so much research and yada yada yada but I am still no closer than where I was a year ago when I purchased my domain and hosting ect. I'd rather be blogging and writing the posts without another year of hyper focusing on things that really won't help me in the long run.

  3. This is filled with some great info yet is still really interesting!  I've been thinking about blogging a little more seriously because I don't always have the time to sit down and edit a video, but I love to write and taking pictures doesn't take as much time at all.  I'll definitely check out the resources you've mentioned!

  4. Great advice, as always, Charli. 😀 I don't have a blog, but even just as a reader I can see that it's super important for the layout to work across all platforms & browsers!

  5. I never realised those Youtubers had blogs alongside their channel as well. Love them all in their different ways, and each layout it suits each one of their personalities so well. Off to check those out, thanks for this video x

  6. Great tips Charli! Took me so long to keep changing my blog design to how it looks now, a well designed blog is always so nice to read and actually makes you feel happy just looking at it! 🙂

  7. This is perfect! I'm about to go about a blog redesign and am trying to find the right designer for what I want. My partner cannot stress about having a mobile friendly version as well (I'm pretty sure he wants to code it, he loves that sort of stuff). Great video xx

  8. I'd always figured mobile layouts weren't that important until I started really using my mobile to browse. Now I can't believe how frustrating not having a mobile version is!

    Great video too! Very informative.
