Everyone wants America’s education system to do better. Ex-Googler Max Ventilla has a radical idea for how to make it work more like a social network. Ventilla’s AltSchool is building a highly-personalized education experience that gets better and cheaper as more students use it. Subscribe:
In a decade, AltSchool may not have just built some new schools but rather a new school system that all will be able to join. What do you think: is this the future of schools or an idea that won’t succeed? Wow amazing, thanks!😊
Hola que lo que
This video sounds like a tech bro who hasn’t studied education. If these aren’t private schools, then they’re contributing to the charter system which will be the death of public schools.
He was alusinated. He isn't even a tecaher and wanted to teach…
Excellent Ideas! What do you think about this concept?

Collective learning is important. Time for exploration and free learning can be built into the day, but we want to make sure that all kids are learning together the fundamental basics for their grade. This does not mean that those who want to go faster will be limited. They can use their free time during the day to go further — the question is — can the schools afford the materials that support exploration? Once again, collective learning and collective memory is important for human development.
Curious as to what the model is to foster collaboration and building those social emotional connections. This is truly an amazing concept, how do you analyze where the students are? What about standardized testing? Is it not state mandated? I wholeheartedly think we need to move to a learn by doing education system. However, it cannot be all technology. Fine motor skills are lacking now in school, communication skills as well, forget writing. Most students come in not even knowing how to hold a crayon in Kindergarten. Nonetheless being able to read at the end of Kindergarten. Yet The system wonders why children cannot read. Ummm could be that developmentally, they are behind. Or that the system needs revamped. This is very interesting and makes me want to dive in a bit.
The best learning is to learn how to bring value to society that's all make lot of money n save… N the best learning is by self
Intro goes really hard
So, there will ne students who het to graduate without basic reading or math skills due to they choose other interests??
I’m a grandmother, Native American woman who knows that Indian boarding school trauma is school trauma and is no different now. The model is still the same. I’ve made the decision to change this. Going back to school this fall, creating a conversation with educators and community
I was doing some rearch and thinking about starting a school. But as i thought about it and did some search on youtube I came to understand that in the future schools will not be in buildings. So investing over 1 million dollars would be a waste!
What about the government budget on education ? are these private schools you're showing us ?
Why did it fail?
Wow. It is really the school of future❤
Our current education system is outdated and only serves elites who want obedient workers. Having more schools like this would be an improvement for sure.
While your idea of making the education system more tailored to one's own curiosity is a good one, it does not seem available to the wide general population who are paying taxes to their individual school districts to get free public education. I don't know the cost model for a consumer for this type of education system but I can tell it is not the most economical one.
Going back to badics… Apprenticeships will be back… Very quickly.
Stand next to the pro and learn. I was learning how to cut hair at 12 years old in a BARBER SHOP… Shaving men with a straight razor at 14 and opened mybown shop at 21 years old…
NEVER went to school.
All apprenticeship with ONE man. Nooney exchanged.❤
Will early exposures to computer lights for such prolonged periods affect their eye sight?
Vote who all are from India?
Two yeard teacher children Califonia❤❤❤
Experience ❤❤❤
I always thought getting academic qualifications should be similar to that of getting licences for driving or setting up a business. Meaning that you study for however long or short you need to and then take the test whenever you're ready. So hypothetically speaking if there's an 12 yr old kid that could do master's degree level algebra why not let that kid take such a test at that age? Why mandate that the kid should only do that at age 20 something when in university?
This content is an odyssey of insight. A similar book I read was a journey that reshaped my perspective. "The Art of Meaningful Relationships in the 21st Century" by Leo Flint

It's an important debate, as a teacher I trully see the need for inovation in education. I do also believe we shall look into the traditional model with a little more pride, because it was responsible for the greater achievements we've accomplished in society so far, including technology itself. We can't nor should we simply toss it. Food for taught…
