We’ve seen a ton of smartphone “innovation” in the last few years, but why is it that the MOST innovative ones, the ones that really try something new, always seem to fail?

  1. no matter how OnePlus or oppo or vivo owners who called their phones a " flag ship " somehow & trying to tell you that its better than Samsung or iPhone as an excuse .. they will never change the fact that they just bought these phones because they cannot afford to buy the real deal like iPhone or Samsung .. so they end up buying these Chinese knock offs & pretend that its a flag ship , while its not , they are not even popular , there's a lot of people TODAY who never even heard about Xiaomi or vivo or OnePlus

  2. I think cool phones that stand out from the crowd are made by smaller companies, because the bigger companies don't want to get negative responses from people, but the small companies never make a sequel to their phones

  3. It can also be the case that people buy a phone that is reminiscent of their old phone, it can also be the case that they buy the same brand as the old one when they buy a new mobile phone. it may also be that they do not want too big differences. Then there are sayings you know what you have but you do not know what you get

  4. another reason why they fail is because simplicity you can add a lot of cool stuff to a phone but then it gets too i guess busy theres too many features or gimmicks whereas other phones like apple and samsung (for key examples) are simple there's nothing "too much" about them
i'll give an example of too busy my own phone the razer phone 2 (i know) was too busy in the speaker department the speakers are amazing but they are very much in your face and the RGB lego on the back is too busy as who is really gonna have it on but despite that its a pretty decent phone and looks kinda cool (in my opinion) however due to these gimmicks/features no one was interested because other phones at the time were focusing on making the screen larger and sadly that meant the razer phone 2 is razer's last phone and they dropped support for it very very quickly (even screwing over customers with how fast they dropped support)

  5. First time commenter – I've been really enjoying your videos whilst I work. I went with the S10 5G, despite it being a somewhat safe option as it packed just about every main feature I wanted come upgrade time back in 2019. The rear camera array is still dependable and benefitted from some decent software updates. I also think the horizontal array looks much nicer than how they have arranged the cameras on the subsequent 20 and 21.

The main thing is, I think the S10 5G found that sweet spot of being so good and at the head of the curve in 2019 that when my upgrade came around this year, I decided to go sim only and not get a new phone. I just don't see any significant upgrades and having the 3.5mm jack is also useful to me.
