10:06 Future of Indian EdTech
The Indian Edtech sector experienced a meteoric rise driven by a convergence of factors including the proliferation of internet access, especially due to Reliance Jio, and a vast market of nearly 300 million students. Investors poured billions of dollars into this sector, buoyed by optimistic projections of growth.
The onset of the pandemic further accelerated the growth of Edtech, with companies like BYJU’S and Unacademy aggressively expanding their offerings and user base. The availability of excess liquidity in the market fueled by low interest rates led to a surge in funding, propelling the Edtech bubble to new heights.
While revenue figures soared in the short term, the fundamentals of these companies began to unravel as customer acquisition costs skyrocketed. Despite astronomical valuations, many Edtech startups struggled to monetize their user base effectively. The reversal of fortunes was compounded by external factors such as the reopening of schools and tightening financial markets.
The collapse of the Edtech bubble led to a stark division among startups, with well-funded companies like BYJU’S and Unacademy weathering the storm through strategic acquisitions and international expansion. Smaller players faced insurmountable challenges, resulting in closures and forced acquisitions at significantly reduced valuations.
In contrast, PhysicsWallah, a bootstrapped startup focused on organic growth, emerged as a beacon of success amidst the turmoil. By prioritizing profitability over rapid expansion, PhysicsWallah demonstrated a sustainable model for Edtech in India.
Looking ahead, the future of Edtech lies in a hybrid model that combines offline and online elements to build trust and scale effectively. Companies like BYJU’S and Unacademy are investing in offline centers to complement their online platforms, leveraging technology to enhance the learning experience.
Ultimately, the future of Edtech hinges on striking a balance between technological innovation and traditional modes of education delivery. The company that can effectively navigate this transition and build trust with students and parents alike is poised to lead the Edtech landscape in the coming years.

Do you think going 'Hybrid' is a sustainable EdTech model?
Offline + online is the way. Physics wallah opening offline classes is a great move. And it’s the better way than both regular schooling and these online only classes.
Think about it. How many of us went to coaching but while studying at home had doubts but then we can’t ask anyone. Obviously with things like ChatGPT it’s very much possible now but if it’s done properly as in catered wrt the material taught in class it’ll be a game changer.
Because in person classes will never go away. No matter how good online classes become.
Please don't think you should praise PW and others. Even there is no such quality in anything. Could you wait and watch the real faces of PW and Other? They definitely comprise to give the quality.

I still prefer online education as it saves lot of time
PW MAYBE A COMPANY BUT IS ALSO AN EMOTION AND HOPE FOR CRORES OF STUDENTS❤❤❤❤❤
Because PW wasn't playing the EdTech war it was trying to teach the students.
There is no rocket science in this. Fairly simply rule of any sector, "Just deliver what you promise". PW successfully delivered what they promise and Buyju's failed to deliver.
You just wasted time, no real insights on the business of PW
99% of the video was on what others did wrong (which was obvious) but no info on what PW did right?
How did they manage to be profitable even with the most affordable courses and yet hiring the best faculties?
Keep uploading this types of educational videos on startups ❤

Anyone else feel like the channel is losing their quality, especially comparing to Think School’s case studies?
What about Vedantu?
PW is going to be the King of Edtech and it has one of the best content and star teachers and cheapest price.
As a CA student I started looking for best yet cheaper classes and found Unacademy and I am a subscriber of Unacademy since Jan 2022
PW,unacademy vedantu and byjus acquired company like aakash will surely stay relevant.byjus will perish because of its brand reputation has gone down to drains.these mentioned companies somehow built company trust to customers so they will scrap thru market.and growing trend of learning in yourube and tuitions in online after school trend will boost their brand
My respect for Mukesh Ambani is increasing day by day❤
